More and more recently, the global warming crisis is being questioned. The Environmental Protection Agency once determined that greenhouse gases are a threat to our health. Now, people believe that the race to create technologies for clean energy so as to stop this global warming are unnecessary. "Business leaders recognize that we are in danger of falling behind other nations in developing the clean energy economy of the future." With that being said, I think there are several things that the U.S. can do to curb this emission of gas.
To begin with, the U.S. could possibly start cutting down efforts to research clean energy, as it costs money and time. However in Congress, given the proper amount of support is there, senators and house representatives could possibly pass legislation to make companies regulate the amount of emissions their factories release. Perhaps this would stop the frequent pollution. As well as that, there could be legislation to force companies to a point where more efficient and less harmful means of production could be sorted out.
Within our individual communities, people like myself can help our situation. Ultimately, the main aspect of this that would help immensely would be to cut down our energy bills. In order to do so we'd have to use "energy more efficiently" and make energy cleaner. However, wouldn't this be against the notion of curbing the efforts for clean energy research? Besides that, our communities can start thinking of ways to base our economy domestically, therefore the necessity of transportation for goods would most likely drop.
Overall, the issue of global warming is one that shouldn't be overlooked. It is a crucial thing to handle, it's just the decision on how to go about it may be hard for America's citizens.
